Mamelodi Sundowns FC

Mamelodi Sundowns is the best team with 1515 points. Also known as the Brazilians, or Bafana baStyle, Mamelodi Sundowns plays in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and has won the league seven times. In 2016, Sundowns won the CAF Champions League and was named as the Club of the Year. It has also won the Nedbank Cup four times and was the first South African team to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Bidvest Wits FC

Bidvest Wits is the second-ranked South African team with 1463 points. In 1975, Bidvest Wits won the National Football League and was the top domestic league team. Wits won the Mainstay Cup in 1978, and this was their first major title. Wits also won the Nedbank Cup in 2010. The Braamfontein-based club won their first PSL title in the 2016/2017 season and also won the MTN8 Cup in 2016. In 2017, Bidvest Wits won the Telkom Cup league.

Kaizer Chiefs

Although Kaizer Chiefs has registered a drop in point ranking, it is the third-ranked with 1454 points. Nicknamed Amakhosi, Kaizer Chiefs plays in the PLS and has won the title four times. Chiefs have been champions for the National Soccer League three times, Nedbank Cup thirteen times, and Telkom Charity Cup eleven times.

Orlando Pirates FC

Orlando Pirates is fourth-ranked with 1454 points and has won PSL four times. The Pirates have held championship titles for the Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout and National Soccer League once.

Cape Town City FC

Ranked fifth with 1380 points, Cape Town City FC plays in the PSL and has won the Telkom Knockout once and MTN8 twice.
