How is Real Madrid suffering in the Champions League without Ramos?

Coach Zinedine Zidane explained the reason for not summoning Gareth Bale to the list of Real Madrid players attending the match against Man City in the Champions League.

According to the Spanish press, the relationship between coach Zidane and Gareth Bale has escalated to the worst and completely irreconcilable.

In the list of Real Madrid players summoned for the second leg of the 1/8 Champions League round against Man City tonight, there is no Welsh star.

As explained by the French military leader, “Bale refused to come to Manchester when he knew he would not play”.

During his pre-match press conference, Zidane faced five questions about Bale and he replied: “A lot has been said, but we have a respectful relationship between the club and the player. All I say is he (Bale) doesn’t want to play. The rest is between us and him ”.

Then Zidane added: “Bale did not disappoint me. I have great respect for Gareth and everything should take place in the dressing room between the players and the coach.

Meanwhile, Marca stated that the problem between Zidane and Bale was for personal rather than professional reasons. There is hardly any dialogue between the two.

It is true that Bale does not disrespect the French coach, but many of his gestures in recent weeks have not satisfied Zidane, who put Bale “in a dead end” at Real Madrid after the Champions League final in Kiev.

Zidane’s return is not good news for Bale. Last summer, he almost had to leave, even Zizou himself admitted at a press conference. After all, the two continue to share the locker room, but the relationship not only does not improve, but it gets worse.

With Real Madrid, Bale was not called up for the final La Liga match against Leganes and had not played a single minute in the previous six matches.

How is Real Madrid suffering in the Champions League without Ramos?

Sergio Ramos will not be able to play the second leg of the 1/8 Champions League round with Man City, causing great concern for Real Madrid based on precedent.

The red card in the first leg caused Sergio Ramos to be suspended during Real Madrid’s visit to Man City in the Champions League. It is a serious damage to coach Zinedine Zidane when the midfielder has influence in every aspect of the team.

What happened in Real Madrid’s previous Champions League matches without Ramos clearly explaining this reason.

In the last 6 matches without Ramos, Real Madrid lost 5 and won only 1. This only victory happened against Club Brugge when the white shirt team passed the group stage.

That worrying midfielder started from the quarter-finals of the 2017/18 season. After a 3-0 win at Juventus, Ramos missed the second leg due to a suspension.

This didn’t seem to worry at all, but Juventus won back 3-0 before Lucas Vazquez earned a controversial penalty and Cristiano Ronaldo did it successfully, bringing Los Blancos into the semi-finals.

Last season was a disaster for Ramos and Real Madrid in every way. In the second round of the Champions League group stage, they went to Russia without Ramos and then suffered a 0-1 defeat against CSKA.

Then, with Real Madrid at the top of the final table, coach Solari also rested the captain and the white shirt team ended with a 0-3 defeat to CSKA.

But the worst thing has yet to come, because after winning Ajax 2-1 in Amsterdam, Ramos has to pay the price for “card removal”. As a result, the midfielder had to receive an additional penalty: he was suspended for two games, and Real Madrid was defeated 1-4 in the return leg at home.

UEFA’s penalty has been carried over to the current season. Without Ramos, Real Madrid was crushed 3-0 by PSG at the Parc des Princes despite the absence of Mbappe and Neymar.

Since arriving at Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos has missed 30 Champions League games due to injuries, penalties and the coach’s decision. As a result, without him, Los Blancos won 19, drew 3 and lost 8. The problem is that 62.5% of these failures have come in the last 6 games without a captain on the field
